PUBLIC EDUCATION THROUGH CHARACTERIZATION  - (CLOWNING 1) –

FLORIDA STATE FIRE COLLEGE - OCALA, FLORIDA

40 CEU’S FOR FIRE SAFETY INSPECTOR, INSTRUCTOR I, II AND III

THIS CLASS IS ONLY AVAILABLE TO THE FIRST 15 STUDENTS TO REGISTER

Since 1991, this class has been taught through the State Fire College to teach those interested in learning the Art of Clowning and Characterization to be used in conjunction with Public Education with the young and the young at heart, which are known as a “Fire Safety Clown” which are currently used throughout the country.

Fire Safety clowns are not only an educational tool for your department, but has participated in the Special Olympics, Fire Rescue East and still today participates in the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial each year to entertain the children of those that have experienced the loss of a loved one from a line of duty death.

The class will teach you the different types of characters that will best suite you and your department’s needs; improv, costume design, prop making, ballooning, face painting, basic magic, developing of fire safety skits to perform, how to approach all the different types of ages, school visits and nursing home visits, just to name a few.

The registration fee is $475.00, which will cover your room, meals and make-up supplies for the week. The additional cost of $100.00  

is an estimate on the other supplies that you will need to purchase for other accessories, to include a wig,

designing and making your costume and other supplies needed to properly

create your character.
